One of the hardiest feather palms for the garden or containers with arching blue green leaves up to 2m. long. Will withstand hard frost when large and grows best in sun with plenty of water in the growing season.

Chamaerops humilis 'Dwarf Fan Palm' Hardy


A beautiful and very hardy palm making a low bush up to 2m. high with several stout trunks from ground level. Stiff fan shaped leaves up to 60cm. across, often with a silvery sheen. Grows easily in sun or light shade, even in windy sites, and makes an excellent container plant.

Cycas revoluta 'Sago Palm' Conservatory


A beautiful Cycad from Japan that has been cultivated for centuries. It forms a bulbous trunk from which grow long fern-like, dark green leaves in a rosette. Best grown in a pot although large plants may be hardy in mild areas.

Phoenix canariensis 'Canary Island Date Palm' Hardy


A beautiful palm, seen all over the Mediterranean, which can be grown either in a large container or planted in a sunny, sheltered site. Stout trunks with long feather shaped foliage of shiny dark green. Needs plenty of moisture in summer and some winter protection when young.

Trachycarpus fortunei 'Chusan Palm' Hardy


The best known hardy palm which grows happily in most parts of Britain. Forms a tall trunk with very large fan shaped leaves up to 90cm. across and has sprays of yellow flowers on older plants. Makes an ideal feature for the garden or a larger container but looks best with some shelter from wind which can damage the foliage.

Washingtonia robusta 'Skyduster Palm' Half Hardy


From the west coast of the U.S.A. and featuring in many TV series this fast growing palm makes a superb conservatory plant. Large fan shaped leaves are edged with silvery threads. It needs bright light and plenty of water in the summer. Will also grow outdoors in mild areas.
