Beautiful Australian tree fern with long, delicate fronds up to 3m. long on a slenedr trunk. Needs protection in cold weather or excellent grown in a pot. Will grow happily in sun or light shade.

Cyathea medullaris half hardy


Black Tree Fern. Slow growing with a dramatic black, hairy trunk and long fronds up to 3m. long. Grow in a very sheltered position outside with plenty of water in hot weather.

This is a New Zealand native and is fairly frost hardy with a slender trunk covered in yellow hairs and soft green fronds. Protect from severe cold. Excellent in a large container.

Dicksonia antarctica Hardy


An evergreen tree fern with large fronds and a thick hairy trunk growing slowly to around 4m. Plant in a cool shady position out of strong winds. Larger specimens are very hardy but in cold areas protect the crown with a mulch of straw, bracken or leaves. Available as young plants or with trunks up to 1.5m.
